I know Christmas is over but I thought everyone would get a kick out of this story. Drew is a no-nonsense kind of child and if something does not make sense or seem possible than it isn't real. So here is a conversation we had a week before Christmas, as we are all driving down the road:
Drew: Mom did you know Santa isn't real?
Braydon: What? (in a panicked tone)
Drew: Santa isn't real Braydon.
Braydon: YES HE IS DREW!!!!
Me: Drew, who told you Santa isn't real?
Drew: No one told me that. You and Dad buy our presents, you hide them in the barn and you tell us they are from Santa.
Braydon:What? (looking at me in terror and disbelief.
Me: Drew, santa brings you one present and me and dad buy the rest and we hide them from you in the barn.
Braydon: SEE DREW.
At this point Drew is starting to feel bad for Braydon and says Fine, while she rolls her eyes. Then she whispers under breath "ya, and reindeer can really fly"
A little while later Braydon was explaining about the tooth fairy and Drew looked at him like he was loosing his ever loving mind. She says "a fairy is going to fly in my window and take a tooth from under my pillow?" There was no way in hell she was going to buy that.

I truly struggled with that this year! Meg kept asking questions and I felt like I was digging a hole I won't be able to get out of!! I swear, there were at least 4 times when I almost spilled the beans, but I want it to be magical just a few more years. I just hope she will understand when she figures it out and I won't be in the doghouse for too long. I think it's great that Braden was panicked. I don't remember being tramatized figuring it out when I was a kid. I think my mother just told me that there are some things that parents are ok to lie about. Like the Easter bunny, being pregnant ect. I guess we shall see.
That is hilarious! I can't believe what a little skeptic she is! Braydon's reaction is my favorite part...
I've heard the story and I still read it and LOL! Little turd!
Oh I totally remember when Santa was ruined for me_trip down memory lane-if we were on save by the bell right now the tv screen would turn a foggy pink and there would be a picture of cute young jerrae helping a lady in our ward wrap presents. I will never forget the gut wrenching feeling when she held up two toys and said, "Which one do you think should be from Santa, and which on should be from us?" I could hardly breathe as a pointed to the cuter doll and said,"That one." And that was it the Christmas magic was over from that moment on. There was no denying it, it came from the lips of an adult- Santa wasn't real.
